SMEs Facing Tough "Going Global" Challenges?

Digital Solutions Help You Breakthrough and

Expand with Ease!

In recent years, the rapidly shifting geopolitical landscape, the complex global trade environment, and rising tariff barriers have presented unprecedented challenges for Hong Kong SMEs looking to expand overseas. Tighter financing conditions, fiercer competition, and supply chain reshuffles are all exerting pressure on local businesses aiming for international growth. However, every crisis brings opportunity. Digital transformation is forging new pathways for SMEs, enabling them to navigate these turbulent times and chart a course into new international markets.

The "Standard Chartered Hong Kong SME Leading Business Index" Q1 2025, conducted by the Hong Kong Productivity Council and Standard Chartered Hong Kong, reveals that while overall business confidence is somewhat conservative, over 70% of SMEs surveyed have implemented response strategies, with many eyeing new market development. Notably, around 20% of these businesses intend to expand into new regions such as Mainland China and ASEAN within the next three years. This underscores the proactive approach of Hong Kong SMEs in seeking overseas opportunities, even amidst economic uncertainty.

Digital transformation is pivotal for SMEs to bolster their competitiveness and tackle these challenges head-on. By leveraging tools such as e-commerce, digital marketing, cloud technology, big data analytics, and Artificial Intelligence (AI), businesses can reach global customers cost-effectively and efficiently, gaining precise insights into market demands. AI can be leveraged for market analysis, customer behaviour prediction, and marketing automation, helping businesses formulate global expansion strategies. Furthermore, digital tools aid in optimising supply chains, streamlining operations, and enhancing customer experience. These digital solutions offer robust technological support for SMEs venturing overseas, enabling them to adapt flexibly to market shifts and seize business opportunities.
